The Phu Quoc International Airport expansion project is being designed by CPG Consultants and Artelia Airport—two of the world’s leading airport design firms headquartered in Singapore and France. With a target of completion ahead of APEC 2027 and a total investment of nearly VND 22 trillion, the airport is expected to deliver a world-class, seamless, and intelligent experience, elevating Phu Quoc’s status as a destination right from its “gateway.”
Phu Quoc International Airport is also a highly iconic architectural landmark. The passenger terminal is designed with inspiration from the Phoenix—a mythical bird symbolizing royalty, power, and nobility. In addition to the main passenger terminal, Phu Quoc is also investing in the construction of a VIP terminal designed by Italian architect Marco Casamonti, the creator of the iconic Kiss Bridge in Phu Quoc. The VIP terminal draws inspiration from the image of the sea eagle—a symbol of freedom, grace, and harmony with nature.
To meet the goal of serving 20 million passengers per year, the Total Airport Management (TAM) model will be implemented at Phu Quoc. This is a comprehensive integrated solution covering all airport operations, from landside to airside, from passenger flow and baggage management to flight coordination and security. The system optimizes operations, minimizes disruptions, and enhances efficiency and passenger experience.
With a massive total investment combined with today’s most advanced global technologies, the expansion project will elevate Phu Quoc International Airport to the ranks of the world’s most modern airports. This marks a strategic move by Sun Group to enhance tourism infrastructure, strengthen Phu Quoc’s connectivity with regional and international aviation hubs, and contribute to positioning Phu Quoc as a new global tourism and economic center in the future.
