Kiss of the Sea officially premiered on January 26, 2024 as a multimedia art spectacle that seamlessly combines eight performance technologies: fire, water, lasers, lighting, music, projection, fireworks, and live performance. The show is executed in a meticulously choreographed and spectacular manner by 60 multi-ethnic artists from 20 countries around the world.
The performance tells a romantic love story between a young man from Earth and a female guardian of the Milky Way, and their battle against dark forces to protect the planets. Audience emotions are guided from a sense of relaxation along a stunning beachfront to thrilling climaxes as they witness the fierce confrontation between the powers of fire and water. From moments of intense tension and searing heat, as if standing amid molten lava, spectators are then swept into an explosion of joy and fulfillment beneath a sky filled with fireworks celebrating the victory of the main characters.
The show is a collaboration between Sun Group and ECA2 — the world-renowned French production company specializing in immersive, multi-experience shows. Over its 30 years of operation, ECA2 has produced more than 60 performances across 17 countries worldwide, many of which have become “golden attractions” for destinations, such as Wings of Time in Singapore, which attracts over one million visitors annually, or Fountain of Dreams, regarded as one of the must-visit landmarks in Wuyi Mountain, China.
With an investment of trillions of Vietnamese dong, and as the first and only multimedia technology show of its kind in Vietnam to date, Kiss of the Sea features some of the most advanced technologies and largest-scale production in the world. Its seawater projection screen spanning over 1,000 square meters has helped Kiss of the Sea earn the title of “The world’s largest ocean-based theater,” while the stage itself boasts three consecutive projection domes and more than 300 devices used to create a wide array of multi-layered visual effects.
