Sun World Fansipan Legend Launches Unique Experiential Show on Fansipan Peak, Sa Pa

On June 21st, Sun World Fansipan Legend officially launched the experimental show "Sacred Peak Journey." This is a new cultural highlight at the "roof of Indochina," opening up an unprecedented artistic viewing space, from the mountainside up to the summit at over 3,143m.

Reaching the Pinnacle of Art on the Roof of Indochina

Taking place entirely outdoors, "Sacred Peak Journey" is a unique experimental art performance, specifically staged for the majestic terrain of Fansipan peak. Set against the backdrop of magnificent nature, the show consists of three acts, bringing together 26 local artists and artisans, performed at three iconic locations: from a village at an altitude of 1,500m, to a spiritual complex at 2,800m, and finally ending at the highest peak in Indochina at 3,143m.

Northwest Market - A Vibrant Highland Scene

Opening the artistic journey of "Sacred Peak Journey" is the vibrant scene of the "Northwest Market" in Ban May, at an altitude of 1,500m. The space seems to brighten with the melodious sound of the Hmong flute, the shouts of vendors echoing through the mountains, blending with the colorful dances of the highland girls, transporting visitors into the vibrant, joyful, and warm rhythm of the mountainous region.

The market not only portrays the artisans of Sa Pa in a realistic and vivid way with their unique crafts, but also simulates the distinctive courtship customs of love markets, where encounters and poetic love stories, originating from dances and flute music, continue through generations.

The folk music and courtship melodies of the Hmong and Dao people are carefully selected and modernized with contemporary arrangements to suit the entertainment tastes of the general audience. Every dance move, every choreography, every pattern and motif on the artists' costumes, every musical instrument and tool appearing in the performance was carefully researched and selected to ensure accuracy, precision, and respect for local culture, aiming to create a vibrant festival space that reflects the spirit of the times while preserving the essence of the region.

Amidst this setting, the image of Giàng Thành Đức, a 16-year-old H'Mông artist from Mây village, stands out as a highly emotional highlight. To the lively music, Đức's skillful, passionate, and enthusiastic flute dance moved and delighted many in the audience. Đức is not only a young artist but also a prime example of the scientific, systematic, and sustainable continuation and development of cultural heritage in the Northwest mountains.

The White Cloud Path – Sacred Mountain Path

Leaving the festive atmosphere of the highland market, visitors' artistic journey ascends to a completely new space with a tranquil and serene state of mind. “The White Cloud Path” – chapter two of “The Sacred Peak Journey,” takes place at Bich Van Zen Temple, at an altitude of 2,800m, with a highlight being a contemporary dance performance featuring the lotus flower symbolizing Zen meditation.

Without noise or dramatic climaxes, “The White Cloud Path,” with the sound of wind chimes and meditative music, creates resonant vibrations from the depths of the soul. Chapter two of the show is designed as a subtle pause, where visitors can stop during their journey to conquer the peak and listen to themselves.

Amidst the swirling mist of the sacred mountain peak, art is no longer just for viewing, but becomes a means of bringing people back inward, encountering their primal self on the journey to enlightenment.

Beloved Vietnam - The Dance of National Pride

The final chapter of this artistic journey unfolds atop Fansipan, at an altitude of over 3,143 meters.

Amidst stirring music, under the fluttering red flag with a yellow star against the vast, boundless sky, the green bamboo dance, combined with songs and melodies expressing fervent patriotism, resonates through the mountains, leaving the audience overwhelmed with boundless national pride.

Unlike the first two chapters, the finale adopts a modern style, with fast, energetic movements, portraying the indomitable spirit, the aspiration for progress, and the strong self-respect of the ethnic communities living in this border region.

A living artistic space amidst the mountains

“Sacred Peak Journey” is a journey through the landscapes, culture, and spirit of Northwest Vietnam, taking visitors through a range of emotions, from lively to tranquil, from profound to heroic. Without a fixed stage, the entirety of Fansipan is transformed into a magnificent performance hall amidst nature. Every rock step, tree canopy, layer of mist, or ray of sunlight piercing through the clouds becomes a natural prop, contributing to the storytelling of Northwest Vietnam and Fansipan. The close interaction between artists and audience through activities such as pao throwing, folk games, and folk dancing completely blurs the boundaries between viewers and artists.

Although inspired by local culture, the program is not lacking in modern creativity. The blend of traditional instruments with EDM, smoke and fire effects, lighting, and a multi-tiered stage create a captivating audio-visual experience, satisfying both culture-loving tourists and young people who appreciate innovative art.

A valuable bonus is that the entire live performance is included in the cable car and tourist area entrance tickets. Visitors do not need to pay any extra fees to fully enjoy this approximately 35-minute artistic journey. This is how Sun World Fansipan Legend elevates its status.
